Episode #20 Bread, Jam, and a Pandemic, with Frances (featuring Frances Tanasse)
Show notes:
Here we are a year since the start of the pandemic. I can’t think of a person who’s been spared from its effects. As a parent with three kids, I can’t help but want to take inventory a year ago this week when we learned that schools were closing for just a couple of weeks so that the pandemic could pass through. It would be just a little extended spring break.
We had no idea that schools would remain closed for the better part of a year.
Since starting this podcast, we’ve heard from folks from the age of 12 to the age of 85, and their perspectives on the events of this past year. This week during the anniversary of the start of this pandemic, I thought we’d pull in a high school senior to hear how things have gone for a group many feel the saddest for.
Enter Frances Tanasse. Frances is my youngest child, and she’s a senior about ready to graduate without ever having a real senior year. We hear from her about her experience as a 17 year old, weathering this past year. She shares with us about what it feels like growing up a little before you're ready, about going pro, about problem solving, about FOMO (fear of missing out), and about showing up.
Post Show Notes: I always love talking with Frances. I am proud of the woman she’s become! I appreciate the perspectives of our teens regarding this past year, and feel for them too as they face one of life’s bigger transitions. Thank you Frances! I love you!
