Episode #19 GED? Great Educational Direction! (featuring Nadine Tussey)
Show notes:
Imagine at the age of sixteen you become a parent, or, a parent or family member dies, or, you develop a serious life threatening illness, or, you are homeless, or you get behind in school because of learning challenges, or, what if you experience significant trauma, or your family is experiencing extreme poverty, or you’re forced to move, or you’re experiencing intense social anxiety or bullying, or, you simply, don’t have any interest. As you feel the surface under your feet start to erode, crumble, or change, something in your life has to give. Dropping out of school confronts you.
What happens when or if the dust settles? Let’s say a year later, five years later, or 15 years later, you’re ready to return to school to continue your education to find opportunities for your life.
Enter this episode's guest Nadine Tussey. Nadine, shows us what’s possible after dropping out due to her own life circumstances, completing a GED program, followed by a bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree. She shares her tales of becoming a teacher to those in our area seeking a GED.
I’m roller skating to welcome Nadine Tussey to A Hat Tip For Hands!
