Episode #6: A Five Thousand Lumen Friend (featuring Denise Desimone)

Show notes:

It takes about 5000 lumens to light up a room, especially during these shortest, darkest days of the year. As the winter solstice comes and goes, it brings hope and possibility and signals more daylight ahead. The season changes. This episode’s guest shows us that people carry the same potential, as she lights up any room with her bright spirit, positive attitude, and insightful perspectives on living derived partly through her experience with nearly dying.

I recently met Denise Desimone in a virtual podcast course, yet never in person. In short order, her presence illuminated the space with a palpable, high energy life force. She brought high density ideas, the voice of a wise teacher, and a dose of magic and reality to help us break through self imposed barriers that prevent sharing of personal work with the world.

Fifteen years ago, Denise faced a stage four cancer diagnosis that would  reshape her life and challenge her to find peace with her situation, and a new way forward. Denise shows us that cancer does not define, it redesigns! Since then, Denise launched into a number of projects sharing her journey and providing support by publishing a book, From Stage Four to Center stage, and producing  a documentary of the same name. And, recently, created a new podcast released earlier this month, called, So Much More Than Cancer.

I’m Double Dutching to welcome my new 5000 lumen friend, Denise Desimone.

Post Show Notes:

Wow! Denise is a spectacular person! Our conversation was like talking to a close friend that I’ve known for a lifetime. I am better for knowing Denise. I appreciate her willingness to share and teach us about living a robust, full life within the context of any amount of life we have! She can be found at DeniseDesimone.com or download her podcast, “So Much More Than Cancer.” Denise moves mountains!
