Episode #14 Sisters Rock! (featuring Julia Pribic)
Show notes:
Our siblings often represent our longest and closest relationships of our lifetimes. They are longer than our parents, longer than our partners, longer than our friends, and longer than our relationships with our own children. Some of us are lucky enough to have a sibling, and some of us are lucky enough to have eight. The latter includes me. I have four brothers and four sisters. I love them all!
Eager to share these beautiful beings on this podcast, I‘ve had the tricky task of figuring out in what order, being sensitive that in a big family, sometimes order matters. Should I go oldest to youngest, youngest to oldest? It’s funny how our birth order never leaves us. We’re all older and we find ourselves in the same positions 50 years later despite efforts to escape these predeterminations.
To my brothers and sisters listening, I ask you to trust that the order does not reflect favorite, importance, significance, campaign contributions, payments of hush money, or otherwise. And, I hope that you’ll join the conversation. You are important to me and to others. You are extraordinary and make a difference, not only with what you do, but rather for who it is you are!
Of course, brother Joe was an easy and obvious first choice as we heard him in the first episode.
I resume the conversation with my siblings in this “Sisters Rock” series, Part 1, with my sister Julia. She is number 6 in our family order. She’s an extraordinary person and has a fascinating and heart warming story of her own relatively large family, and currently finds herself in significant transition as her children near adulthood, determining what’s next as a person, and citizen, and as a mom of twins, triplets, and a child with special needs.
I’m doing snow angels to welcome my sister, Julia Pribic!
Post Show Notes: I loved talking with sister. listening to her journey through starting a family, the challenges of raising 5 all going through the same developmental phases at the same time, growing and learning while supporting a child with special needs, and her work with kids with special needs. Julia has a beautiful, honest, unapologetic, empathic spirit! Thank you!
I tip my hat to Julia for making this world a better place!
